Video asset lifecycle includes the following phases:
- Video Sourcing: Video can be sourced from art team, stock videos or from the internet.
- Processing Video for Publishing
- Video Optimization for Web: Videos should be optimized for web to reduce the load time of the website.
- Video Naming: Videos should be named properly for SEO purposes.
- Video Alt Text / Description: Alt text and descriptions should be added to videos for SEO purposes and for accessibility.
- Video Size / aspect ratio: Videos should comply with the size / aspect ratio requirements of the platform.
- Video Format: Videos should comply with the format requirements of the platform. (e.g. WebM)
- Storing Videos: Videos should be stored in a unified location for future reference and reusability.
- Publishing Videos: At this phase, video can be published on the website.

1. Video Sourcing
Video sourcing is the process of collecting videos from various sources. The sources can be art team, stock videos or from the internet.

- Duration: Length of the video
- Upload location: Must be a designated folder in the "Halio Sonic" shared drive.

- Collect stock videos from websites like Pexels, Pixabay, etc.
- Ensure that the videos are free to use for commercial purposes and do not require attribution.
2. Processing Video for Publishing
Once the video is sourced, it needs to be processed for publishing and storing purposes. The following steps are involved in the process:
Video Optimization for Web
- This involves converting the video to WebM format and compressing it to reduce the load time of the website.

Video Naming
- Rename the video with a meaningful name that describes the video. (e.g.
halio-red-light-therapy-device-demo.webm) - Use hyphens and lowercase letters only
Video Alt (alternative) Text / Description
- Describe the video in a few words.
- Alt text should be descriptive and concise.
- If the video shows a product, the product and brand name should be included in the description.
- If the video contains captions or text, key messages should be included in the description.
- In case there are no captions, the description should describe what happens in the video.
